It’s that time of year again

heartwood_bluebells
Our beautiful bluebell woods overrun again. She’s like a girl who’s getting all the attention because she’s all made up and wearing her best frock. Where were you all when it was snowing or pouring with rain?

John only asked the other day if I would ask you to take a photo of the bluebell woods in bloom as he would love to see them. This is better.

Bule is my favourite colour for flowers in the garden but it's hard to imagine whole fields of blue. Our wattles have started coming out, which is rather early.

Wendy - it is lovely, and often quite startling seeing a blur of blue if you drive past a wood full of bluebells. I always think of Qantas when wattles are mentioned. I remember hours and hours on Qantas planes as a child trying to sleep against aeroplane walls covered in a pattern of labelled drawings of wattles.

We do have a blur of blue in the paddocks sometimes - it's called salvation jane or patterson's curse, depending on whether you are a bee keeper, or a livestock owner - it's not good for animal's livers - especially horses.
