Train people

Our train journey home and a late night out for the sleeping girl.

Birthday night out

salaamnamaste
We had a lovely evening out last night to celebrate my birthday. First, Robin and I went to the Cartoon Museum in Bloomsbury for the launch of blogger Natalie d’Arbeloff’s book The God Interviews. It was lovely to meet a great bunch of people, Natalie, Natalie’s relatives and friends and to come away with my signed copy of her book. Then we went to nearby restaurant Salaam Namaste on the strength of a good review in the Guardian. The food was just as good as the review said, but the evening was slightly marred by the nearby large table of ghastly, drunk, noisy people who queried the bill and then tried to get it reduced by complaining about the service – saying that it was over-attentive. The poor bloody waiters, struggling with serving a full to bursting point restaurant, having some idiot berating the management because he thought they had tried too hard!

On the way home from Equus

After a wonderful evening out to see Equus in the West End, I couldn’t get a seat next to Flo on the train home, which had the advantage of giving me a good view of her reading the theatre programme. A poor likeness – but a memento of her 17th birthday treat.
