I planted six trees today!

A beautiful spring morning and after drawing in Langley Wood, Xavier and I came across the last Heartwood forest tree-planting session of the year and made our mark – three oaks and three ash trees. We picked a spot as close as possible to an existing large old ash tree so that in fifty years’ time Xavier will be able to identify the location.

It really lifts my heart, Julie, to know that you and Xavier planted these, and in a place that he can find in the future where he can watch them grow.

PS. And I like your deer, too, Xavier.

Glad you could make your mark and plant trees for posterity. Love Xavier's deer, and your drawing of him as well. I love the fact that I now know those woods.

Julie, you do live in a green and pleasant land. Good on you for planting trees. We made a new friend the other day at the Golf club Friday night dinner, a guy with a beard down to his waist and he invited us to his cattle/potato farm in the middle of the Otway Ranges and he said he'd take us to see the largest tree in the forest, so we must follow that up. We have State Forests not far from Geelong.
