Drawing on the floor
A Christmas of very high and very low points. The low points are too boring to whinge on about and in this economic climate, we’re not unique.
However the high points were sharing Christmas Day with dear friends and family and woo-hoo, Tom has been offered a place at Oxford University! Provided he gets the grades, he’ll be off to Hertford College (alma mater of Evelyn Waugh and his creation Charles Ryder in ‘Brideshead Revisited’) in October.

Good for Tom!
We have been very quiet, but finally relaxed here on the Island, but home tomorrow where it will be anything but relaxed!
Yay for Tom! This is very timely; I just finished reading 'Brideshead Revisited'!
Congratulations!
What will he be studying?

Oh I'm glad you're having a restful break Penny
Hashi, one of my favourite authors. Flo amused me by saying that some advice from the book is haunting her – something about how you spend the second year of university trying to shake off the friends you made in your first year (that's what house-sharing does to you!)
Rachel - it's engineering
Thanks Annie - we're thrilled.
Well done Tom!
Great news for Tom - love all the bum cracks :)
