It would be great to have Dad's handwriting - it is so distinctive. We could call it Grandad Hodson.

Oma3 - it's great fun and very easy.
Rachel definitely although the extreme slope might make it impossible
Thanks Gabi, but the kerning is rubbish and there's no way of improving it without buying a proper type design package.

Julie,
I don't know what kerning means. Are you saying that this free font program is really worth it? I was going to play with it, but don't need another program on my computer that I won't use.

It's great fun, and you don't need to download anything onto your computer apart from a pdf template that you print off, write on and scan. The programme is on-line so it doesn't happen on your computer. For proper (saleable) typefaces you need to be able to adjust the pair kerning (which means the amount of space between each combination of a pair of letters). I've always wanted to create my own typeface and this is easy (even if it's not for a professional type designer).
