Pastel Flo

flopastel

Flo was doing her homework while watching television so her head was bobbing up and down and she was wearing her glasses. Well that’s my excuse for yet another portrait that bears little relationship to my lovely daughter.
260mm x 300mm pastel

Julie - this is absolutely gorgeous. Obviously I can't speak to likeness, but the pastel painting is just lovely and you really created great form in the face. I hope you do more.

I love this! The technique you use looks very confident. I can't believe you made it under such difficult conditions - well done.

Thank you Karen and Jess. It's an interesting medium. I found this drawing looked a complete disaster for ages. So despite my moans this looks a million times better than it did three-quarters of the way through.

It's a very nice portrait and, do you know how hard it is to capture likeness? Much better to just capture the viewer's interest as you have here.

Whether it looks like her or not, it is really beautiful!
