Soft autumn evening

softautumn
I know this is rubbish, but I need to get back into plein aire. It’s funny how with a bit of a break it all seems so much more challenging to get together a few materials to draw or paint outside.

A bit scary so I wonder who is locked up in the tower?
On Saturday I was in Melbourne and walked past the most interesting old mansion - all dilapidated, peeling, breaking down. I just wanted to draw it but I was on an urgent mission to visit a sick Fijian girl. Anyway, there will be more scary houses to draw I expect.

I must say I loved your 'mile from home blog' Do you miss not drawing from the landscape? Your watercolours are an inspiration! x

Just the church bells Wendy.
Jess to be honest I think I prefer drawing people to landscapes, however my one mile project was a great excuse to escape the family and have a little peace to myself. I'm still walking but without regular sketching I get the walk done much quicker - giving me more time to try and earn a living

Julie, I know what you mean about not feeling like getting stuff up, I am rather stressed at the moment with another drought looking us in the face, a garden I cant water, again, my trips to Adelaide to my mother and feeling tired and I hate to say it a bit depressed. I also hate to say that this painting is not good, you do such lovely stuff, but I think as you say, it is getting into the indoor drawing and not so much the out door. Do hope Rufus is ok, do they know what the cause is?
