Prosecco and pizza

The view from the restaurant where we had our first meal in Venice. You really do have to see Venice before you die.

I love this! This is my goal -- to travel and produce hundreds of sketch/paintings like this! Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh I wish, I really do want to see Venice.
What do your think of that strange film 'Death in Venice' with the superb music - Mahler I think it was.
Very pretty picture of Venice.

Julie,
I absolutely LOVE this painting! You really captured the colors and ambience of Venice beautifully! We were there for one week at each of two of our important wedding anniversaries - the last time in a rented palazzo with our 3 children and their spouses/fiancees. I still smile everytime I think about the vacations - but I wasn't sketching then and had never picked up watercolors. Seems like a great reason to return - SOON.

Beautiful - such lovely use of colour - I think a publisher should sponsor you upfront to spend a month in Venice - what a book that would produce.

What a delightful picture. I haven't visited your blog for ages so it's full of treats for me - but this is a favourite!

On reflection it was very mean of me to say that you must see Venice before you die, when so many of you can't. And although it is glorious there must be other places (I'm sure I won't see) that you also ought to fit in this short life - Macchu Picchu, Antarctica, Ayres Rock come to mind.
