Monkey nut feast
Robin and the boys have a passion for monkey nuts. I don’t get it – they’re just peanuts in their natural packaging, but I love watching their delight in breaking open the shells and finding the nuts inside – even if I’m less than delighted by the shards and flakes of nuts over the table and floor.

I like the perspective of this sketch. Monkey nuts huh??? hummm
Your little paintings are lovely, I rather like how much you say with so little.
Monkey nuts – that's what they call them in England, but they're just peanuts in shells
Oh we call monkey nuts the ones that come out of pine cones, very hard to break open the shell but delicious when you can. I planted the trees when we were first married but the cockatoos, white and black get them before we can so now i buy them but not as nice as fresh ones. As children we used to roast them over an open fire.
Really nice sketch Julie - I too like the perspective on this one. It feels like it needs to be a painting....
