One Mile from Home year completed
After completing my challenge for 2006-2007 I spent one day without taking a sketchbook with me as I exercised, but I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms by Sunday so I took along this funny little Indian-made sketchbook with me on my walk. The paper is truly awful – like painting on lumpy toilet paper. I must stop being tempted by these odd sketchbooks.
We then went to the most fairy-tale wedding in the afternoon. Unfortunately I took the lumpy sketchbook and a scratchy half dried up pen with me so the drawings I managed to do are a poor reflection of a wonderful day. However I’ll have to share them with you, because the wedding was so incredible, so await the next post.

Hey, you could be the new Georgia O'Keefe with paintings like this!
Me too, I think these little vignettes are bright and colorful!

:) I've done exactly the same thing - fallen for a pretty little hand tied book with hand made paper pages ...
.... that soaked up the paint like blotting paper, killing colours stone dead, made ink run and blodge, didn't like pencil much ..... :(
The wedding pictures should be fun. Maybe landscape can take a miss for a while as you show us your living community in action.

these are just beautiful in their simplicity
Hashi, Ronell and Casey thanks very much. I thought after my year I was entitled to be less literal.
Vivien, why do we do it, when the Winsor & Newtons and Arches of this world have invested so much in research to provide a superior product. Having said that what really tempted me was the shape and size - not available in any of the other sketchbooks in the shop.
Wendy, ha ha, I have to say this wedding was definitely not typical of the community round here, I'm sure I'll never go to another like it.
Glad you are back I am catching up at last.
