The walls are a kind of metallic gold colour. The settees are a much darker blue.

Great sketch as usual, and Xaviers smiling face in the previous one.

I love to see polished boots/shoes but I just don't clean shoes, except for a funeral or a wedding!
Peceli and I always take shoes off at the door of a house so did so the other night at a progressive dinner. (Oz people, not Islanders.) Everyone else had shoes on and to me that's dirty. I've been in the South Pacific too long I think.

There's something very satisfying in getting a really good shine on your boots. With cadets it's expected of us. Hugo craftily has a pair of soft toed Doctor Martins which he says he can't shine.
Foot "display" can be very noticeable. I remember I was in Amsterdam once for Queens Day, a great festival. The custom was for folks to be selling things from outside their houses. From car boot rubbish, to food and drink or kids crafts. At one, a little girl (who reminded me of my Flo back home) was painting toe nails orange. (The festival colour - the Queen's from the House of Orange). So I paid her to do mine as I was wearing sandals.
Back home I'd quite forgotten about this when I went to Karate class a few day later. It was a night we were sparring. Oh joy, I was paired up with a neanderthal. As I stood opposite him, with my beautiful orange toes, I knew it'd be a painful night. Never in his wildest dreams who he contemplate "defacing" his body so, it wasn't even worth trying to explain.
Anyhow it's a lovely sunny day, summer can't be far off and Julie will be painting her her toes red...
