Last night’s life drawing

lifedrawingcompositel
Three ten-minute drawings. Each of these is about 31cm in height. I used up some old printing paper samples and ink and watercolour.

The main thing in drawing a standing figure is to get the weight right. I fail often when I do quick sketches, but when I take care it would be to draw a shoulder line, backbone, and a line for the main bones of the legs to get the weight right.
Nice drawings, but aren't they rather small?

Wendy, I think it's heaven to be drawing where no-one is pressurising me to create huge unwieldy pictures that are impossble to store in my small home. There are no easels at this place so you either bring your own or manage whatever size you're comfortable with in a sketch pad or on a drawing board. Most people seem to work at about this size in this group.

Oops! I was wrong about the size. Of course that's fine. I was figuring it was less - I still am someone who thinks in inches!

Peceli has found my old art easel and our lounge room is filled with his paints etc which we had to remove for a little dinner party last night. His pics are too big to put on the blog. He buys ready made canvases for about $9 and his style is - well - a mix of naive, expressionist, decorative - like Dufy.
