This is a place where I regularly post personal artwork, good, bad or indifferent.
The characters that crop up regularly in this blog are daughter – Flo, eldest son – Tom, second son – Hugo and third son – Xavier.
I'll try to reply wherever you comment but if I don't it's only because I'm overwhelmed with caring for my family and earning a living.
And talking about earning a living, if you need a good all round graphic designer please visit my business website to see if I can help you.
If you want to buy prints of anything you see here or have any requests please send an email to julie at julieoakleydesign dot com

'making cathartic funeral arrangements for my crazy mother'??? Now, that is some story in a two lines. Are you going to do some drawing at the event? I did at a Tongan funeral some time ago - drew some of the mourning women. A rather cheeky thing to do, but I wanted to capture the kind of dress they wore- mats and black.

PS
Julie,
What is your connection with Fiji? You are listed as having a Fiji blog, so, how long ago were you in Fiji? You are still listed in Technorati apparently, on the top of the list!
W.
I agree with 'cathartic funeral arrangements??' I hope no one close to you has died, Julie. Hope the madness ends soon.
Well, I'm guessing that the funeral arrangements have helped your mom feel better about things ... I hope it doesn't mean there are troubles there! Thinking of you either way!
Whoops sorry, exhaustion has made me unclear, it's my catharsis and it's my mum's funeral. My other blog has more about it.
Wendy we lived in Fiji from 1962 to 1974 including a couple of years in Labasa.
Hi Julie,
This is my first visit. I found you via "The Creative Journey." Wow, I'm so excited to see your work. This is the way I'd like to draw one day: relaxed, playful, and supported by excellent technique. I like the bold quality of your lines. I've recently set off on a journey of discovering my own artistic bent. I'll now visit your painting blog. Thank you for sharing all of this. It's really inspiring!
In Labasa! We were there 1972 Jan to 1975 Jan and lived at Vatuadova and Nukutatava. Our paths never crossed though!
Isa lei, your Mum's funeral. This is something really heavy. I went to a funeral this morning, a sweet lady, 91 and one of her friends told me the other day, 'Getting old, Wendy, is not good'.
W.
"crazy mother..." LOL, I got one of those...just wanted to say I love your work and hope the funeral arrangements go smoothly
Not sure what the whole story is, but blessings to you.
