Illustration Friday - FEET
When my son Hugo was born, I was in hospital enjoying that lovely time of just me and the baby for what I thought was the last time. And as you do, I was looking at each little finger and toe on this wondrous tiny little person, when I discovered that his second and third toe on one foot were webbed. It was delightful – a tiny little flaw that only served to emphasise the beauty of this baby. Twelve years on Hugo is a very confident swimmer and sailor.
You can see his blog here.

I can hear the pitter-patter of them tiny feet!
Beautiful colours!
Precious moment and beautiful rendering!
What a sweet drawing! Nicely done.
CAN YOU hear the big AHHHHHHHHH from here? Just wonderful -- soft and lovingly done!
Beautiful drawing. I love the perspective
Very nice. Very warm and loving feeling!
Beautiful and tender drawing. I'd bet you were surprised by your discovery, though!
Oh my goodness -- I just went to his blog, too -- you have a very talented son!
Beautiful drawing.
This is adorable! I love the foreshortened perspective. And Hugo is sufficiently "fig-leafed" for any grown child to feel comfortable!
So great!
This is really delightful. What an original composition, too.
This drawing is just so gorgeous! Excellent!
It must be a family thing. My third an fourth toes are slightly webbed. At least we don't have Mum's toes!
I've just thaken my boots off (in the office) It is my second and third toes on my right foot which are slightly webbed! The guys sitting behind me are fainting from the pong!
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. It was a bit of a surprise Linda - I'll tell Hugo what you said he'll be delighted. Lindsay I can still manage to embarrass him regardless of how I draw him! Hi Mercedes nice to meet you too. Rachel, the worrying thing is that Robin's brother has webbed toes and you know his reputation!
