On with the new

Bye bye January, hello February.
Despite the craven commercialism of my new masthead, I think you should know that some of us appreciate tokens of love, just because you love us, not because of pressure from the greetings card manufacturers/chocolate manufacturers/florists. So flowers please at any time of the year, just not on February 14th.

No no no - I wasn't having a go at him - he's really good. I was trying to point out that in some ways, a love token on February the 14th has less meaning or significance because of all that prodding from commercial interests.

Of course Valentines day does mean plenty of work for graphic designers!

I bought a rose once.... and it worked!

I like the way your banners have such a different mood through colour. Are you going to be doing one a month throughout the year?

Caroline, I'll use my imagination as to how it worked!

I thought I might do one a month but I may let it slip when I have too much on. Wally Torta has upped the stakes - he seems to have a new one every day!

I really like your new masthead. However I don't understand why it would be associated with commercialism.

What, you don't like my driving?? :-) Saw your comment on my blog, thanks for visiting! You must have found me through Wally. I love your work! Especially like the drawings with gloves on. Would be happy to swap blog links with you if you want. Keep up the great work!

Evy, thanks - I just thought that it was very much like all the commercial Valentines Day pink and red and hearts that will be assaulting our eyes over the next couple of weeks and which will be persuading guilty lovers to part with their money.

Personally I prefer tiny gestures of love on a daily basis!
