Empty train seats

This kind of subject matter always looks so interesting on other illustrated blogs, but I think it’s turned out just the way it looked in real life — unutterably dull.

This is a place where I regularly post personal artwork, good, bad or indifferent.
The characters that crop up regularly in this blog are husband – Robin, eldest teenager and only daughter – Flo, next teenager and eldest son – Tom, teenager second son – Hugo, five year old third son – Xavier, and red Staffordshire Bull Terrier – Rufus.
I'll try to reply wherever you comment but if I don't it's only because I'm overwhelmed with running a family and earning a living.
My two eldest have started a business venture selling artwork (mainly my paintings) to raise money for university. Please visit their site, Oakley Gallery to see what they are selling now.
If you want to buy prints of anything you see here or have any requests please send an email to flo at oakleygallery dot com

Very, very good.
The angles are just right.
There's something about these empty train seats that tells a story--so maybe that's why the drawing has more power to the viewer than it does to the artist (who was there). I appreciate that you did all the perspectives and angles so well!
Thanks Nita and Finlay. And Nita maybe you have a point there. I do so often enjoy the drawings of mundanity by other people.
I know what you mean, though I like the drawing. A person or some trash left on the seat would add a focal point ;D.
I disaagree, you have some nice shapes, negative spaces and colours here and your shading provides some interesting texture. Also your draughtsmanship is faultless.
