Remembrance Sunday

I did this little sketch a few weeks ago, but as Flo and Tom had to spend over an hour standing to attention in front of the War Memorial for remembrance Sunday, a good time to post it

This is a place where I regularly post personal artwork, good, bad or indifferent.
The characters that crop up regularly in this blog are husband – Robin, eldest teenager and only daughter – Flo, next teenager and eldest son – Tom, teenager second son – Hugo, five year old third son – Xavier, and red Staffordshire Bull Terrier – Rufus.
I'll try to reply wherever you comment but if I don't it's only because I'm overwhelmed with running a family and earning a living.
My two eldest have started a business venture selling artwork (mainly my paintings) to raise money for university. Please visit their site, Oakley Gallery to see what they are selling now.
If you want to buy prints of anything you see here or have any requests please send an email to flo at oakleygallery dot com

It seems to be a family thing. Uncle Patrick laid a wreath for the Hong Kong Police at the cenotaph last Sunday.
My brother, over from Paris for the weekend, asked what the poppies were for. I explained, bought us all one and walked proudly in Durham City.
Nice foliage!
This is such a different style than the "chocolate" a few entries ago. Are you using a brush/brush pen? Very nice.
I saw the photos of Patrick, Rachel - he looked magnificent in his white jacket
Cream - it seems like they have poppies in the USA as well - I'm really surprised it hasn't spread to France
kamuelacarol, this was a really quick black only brush pen sketch, waiting for my husband to pick me up after market shopping, but I then had fun with it in photoshop. I can't stick to one style I'm too excited by the possibilities of different media and different styles
