Old roses

I think my throbbing middle finger is going to erupt so you’ll have to have something old while I save what little use I have in this finger for paid work.

This is a place where I regularly post personal artwork, good, bad or indifferent.
The characters that crop up regularly in this blog are husband – Robin, eldest teenager and only daughter – Flo, next teenager and eldest son – Tom, teenager second son – Hugo, five year old third son – Xavier, and red Staffordshire Bull Terrier – Rufus.
I'll try to reply wherever you comment but if I don't it's only because I'm overwhelmed with running a family and earning a living.
My two eldest have started a business venture selling artwork (mainly my paintings) to raise money for university. Please visit their site, Oakley Gallery to see what they are selling now.
If you want to buy prints of anything you see here or have any requests please send an email to flo at oakleygallery dot com

They are lovely - what project were they for?
They remind me a bit of Charles Rennie Macintosh designs
Rachel
I'm using some similar shapes in a painting I'm wrestling with! I hope your hand feels better, Julie.
Hi Rachel yes Macintosh - well imitation is the greatest flattery! I was fiddling around trying to come up with a birthday card design for Tess.
Laura I think it's going to be a few weeks - my middle finger is like one of those cartoon fingers - huge throbbing bulbous end to it. BTW are you Laura from Laurelines - bit confused when I click back.
I love the way you've used composition here -- the off-kilter aspect and the unusual use of colour, too. Nice!
Yes, I'm that Laura. Hope the finger surprises you with a speedier recovery!
I really like this piece. Nice color and composition! Take care of your poor finger!
Andrea and Gabriella thanks for the the nice comments. Glad you've cleared that up Laura. Sometimes people have different names to their blog name and to Yahoo groups so it can all get very confusing!
