House full of sea cadets

We had extra children sleeping on settees and floors last night because Robin was taking them all to London Docklands to participate in a ‘pulling’ course (for some reason, this is the technical term for rowing). These two girls were much better at sitting still than Flo has ever been.

Julie, this is an absolutely wonderful drawing. So much of the coziness (oops, there's that word again;D) of the room shows through and the warmth of the girls' personalities, too. Btw, I want to take the pulling course!! And, yes, you were the Julie in my drawing ;D.

Laura - re your BCF - I'm flattered to be in such prestigious company!
With this drawing I was lucky that the girls tried really hard not to fidget - must've been the novelty of being drawn - now as for my own family... *upward roll of eyes*

WOW, this sketch is great. You did these figures very well. I need more practice with sketching people.

I love the above drawing of your robe too. I know it took a lot of your time, but it did come out very lovely. :) I'm more of a fast sketcher, because I'm not very patient. But I'm drawn to both styles.

kathleen marie you know I love your watercolours of flowers - your work is so confident it never occurred to me that you might think you needed more practice at anything. Do have a go at people thought - it's worth it even though many of them aren't great (beacause they will move!)
