EDM Fruit challenge
This drawing was done whilst I was feeling cross with the world. I thought that absorbing myself in a drawing might help me unwind. But I think they still look like angry pears.

This is a place where I regularly post personal artwork, good, bad or indifferent.
The characters that crop up regularly in this blog are daughter – Flo, eldest son – Tom, second son – Hugo and third son – Xavier.
I'll try to reply wherever you comment but if I don't it's only because I'm overwhelmed with caring for my family and earning a living.
And talking about earning a living, if you need a good all round graphic designer please visit my business website to see if I can help you.
If you want to buy prints of anything you see here or have any requests please send an email to julie at julieoakleydesign dot com

I don't think they look angry at all. They look bright and vibrant (not muddy either) they look juicy and solid - nice work.
Nah, they don't look angry. They are basking in a sunny glow, dreaming about Barcelona and someone named Helene.
I think the pears are fantastic!!! How did you do them? Paint? ink?? I really like them!! and the shadows and the bowl!! Penny
WOW, This is great. Excellent work!
Thank you all. Karen it took me moment to get the joke, but when I did, it made me laugh and cheered me up - what a wit!
Penny, I drew them late at night with an anglepoise lamp casting a strong directional light. I drew directly in Painter using a wacom - underneath the final version there are layers and layers of unhappy attempts with the various tools - oil pastels, chalks, coloured pencil, digital watercolour. I think the final layer of black and white pencil is what kind of pulled it together.
how can those beautifully drawn pears look angry when you you have used them as your healing tool to unwind? 'got to grab one now and eat!
beautiful colors, beautifully rendered
