There's a great free 'woodcut' app for the iPad. So as I had to turn down the chance of a printmaking course with the Curwen Press (what with the recession and all that) this is a fun free substitute.

I'm over the moon that Hugo has had one definite offer of a University place doing film-making for next academic year. And I know I won't have to worry about him feeding himself, I've done a good job of training my boys to cook (admittedly, not such a good job with my daughter, who prefers to be fed).

Thank goodness I'm good at choosing friends wisely, choosing wise friends who can share a cup of coffee with you and help you view a problem from another perspective, and come up with a solution.

My service provider have upgraded my Blackberry for something far more user-friendly, and I can now get at the phone photos that I took in the summer. A reminder of a lovely day by the sea.

New art project

I've missed having an artistic outlet over the past couple of years. So I'm going to try another almost daily art project this year and keep in touch with friends with good old-fashioned analogue communications. I won't let the project run my life, but hopefully it'll be a cheery little distraction. Some of the postcards will be paintings, some illustrations and some exercises in typography or digital illustrations. And this is my first postcard printed off, written and sent.
