Illustration Friday - DIGITAL

This week's topic really didn't do it for me at all (more like bread and butter work than fun illustration) however I tried to think about the positive way that this digital world has impacted on me personally. I am still full of wonderment that in this world of zeros and ones I can now produce an entire magazine, sort out printing, photography, editing - the whole caboodle - all from a desk at home.
When Xavier was tiny, I was often feeding him whilst taking text corrections from my corporate clients. How fantastic is that?

I've been in that very position a time or two.

Lovely interpretation of this week's theme.

Thank you Amy. When I think of the old pre-digital days when I had to squeeze myself into smart clothes and heels to make client presentations, I'm truly grateful for modern technology. Now I can slob around and cuddle my kids and still get a professional job done.

This is a great Illo.. How wonderful is that.. I work as a telecommuter also. Love the sketchyness of the work.

Thanks Rebecca. I've taken a look at your blog - you've got some great stuff there - I particularly loved your envy pic and enjoyed your comments on it.
The style of my picture was serendipitous, I'd done the rough pencil as a template to do a crisper illustration in a vector program, but it was looking awful so I changed track and used the pencil drawing and coloured it up in photoshop, I kind of think its got a bit of a similar feel to Edward Ardizzone's style although I know he is the master and I don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as him.

This is great. Reminds me of the days when the pud was so small and we would spend many hours in that position. The style echos the soft feeling of those sweet times. :)
